First Porsche
Hi I am picking up my 2003 2.7 Auto Boxster tomorrow, sold my M.G. and Caterham Super 7. Hope I have a good experience, car has only done 51,000 kms, full service history.
At the age of 76 I broke the golden rule of not buying an automatic sports car, hope it is reliable as my 2009 SAAB v6 Aero convertible,
Cheers,
Alan in Melbourne Australia

First porsche
Thanks for quick reply, will send pics after pick up tomorrow.
I had the super seven 18 years, was a lifetime aspiration, sold because I was finding it difficult to get out of as I got older.
Had a lot of sports cars since I got my licence, had a couple of Morgan 3 wheelers when in London in the late 1950's, MG Pb supercharged 1935 and so on.
My last MG was a 1997 MGF vvc. despite a poor reputation for reliability I had no problems and it had 170,000 kms, still running well when I sold it,
Cheers, Alan

Alan, welcome to the forum. I'm not 76 yet but the years are flying by so I may catch up to you.
Turns out there is a guy here in Winnipeg that bought a 2015 918 last year. Obviously he has money, or very, very good credit. The fact that there is a 918 owner in Winnipeg is pretty cool, that fact that he is 83 is even cooler. Yes, 83. He took it up to the local race track for a PCA and Porsche sponsored DE event and apparantly had a blast
I hope I am driving a Porsche at 83. Hell, i hope i'm driving period!

Hi,
still getting used to Porsche ownership, even though it's a 2.7 Tiptronic it has more than enough power IMHO,
Cheers

Don't tell my car or the black one I used to have. But I've always wanted a silver Boxster. That's one beautiful car you have there.

What a beauty. One of my favorite Boxster models ever. Clean cut design, no extra nothing. Just sit and go. Best roadster ever built.
