New owner with a 91....I mean...

So...long story short my best friend's dad unfortunately passed away and my friend inherited his dad's 1999 Carrera 911 Cab with 31,000 miles. My friend's wife wanted no part of keeping the car. He didn't want to sell the car to some stranger and regret it down the road. He asked if I was interested... I borrowed the car for the weekend and fell in love. I talked it over with my wife who wasn't totally sold on the 911...until she drove it. I knew I married her for a reason! Texted my buddy to say I'd buy it for the agreed upon price and I'd bring him a check. He tells me he's convinced his wife that they should keep the car. I was so bummed! The 911 was in mint condition aside from needing the front bumper painted. Someone backed into it.

At this point I was bitten by the Porsche bug and had to have one. I searched for a comparable car but every 996 911 I'd consider was out of my price range. I started doing more research on Boxsters and opened up my search to include them. I found a couple I liked and went to check them out. I wound up buying an 03 Boxster S this morning after searching for a while. Pic below after a nice 130 mile cruise today! I will be detailing the car this weekend.

Boxster S:
51,000 Miles
PSM
Bose
Xenons

Wow!
You lost out on the car I walked away from (an incidental find while boxster shopping), and bought the car I was looking for when I bought mine (I settled for my second choice of year and color, which grew on me). That is a beautiful Box.

Oh wow! That is pretty funny! At first I wasn't sold on the 911 because it was a cab but after driving it for a weekend I realized my opinion of convertibles has changed with age.

Thanks for the compliments all! Unfortunately I can't drive the Box all weekend (its absolutely gorgeous out too) since I have my 3yr old daughter while the wife is away for the weekend.

Car seat issue? You can get a airbag shutoff for a car seat.

Yeah, I found the Latch system on Pelican. I just have to order one and have the airbag shutoff.

Love the blue (midnight or lapis? - hard to tell in pics sometimes) and beige combo. CT plates match nicely, too - I might add. I'm picking up an 03 Base next week with the same combo.
