I put a 2.7 in car for the same reason (they are inexpensive), the 3.2 had an IMS failure. The car is now considerably slower than the 3.2, but still a peppy little car. I plan on having some fun with mods plan on putting a small twin turbo system on it....I wouldn't mess around with a sound 3.2 however due to how easy and inexpensive 2.7 engines are, they are worth having some fun with. I did keep the 3.2 ECU with the 2.7 as the car has PSM, perhaps a 2.7 ECU would make it perform differently, not sure about this.

I read with interest you flywheel post. My interest had more to do with the fact that you bolted a 2.7L motor to the 6 speed and stuck it in your S. In deciding what to do with my own 01 S, I found the 2.7 motors very inexpensive. How does this combo perform?
