DRL hack with pics?
I KNOW I'm overthinking this, spent more time looking for instructions with pics than it is going to take to do the hack. That being said, does anyone have a link to instructions for the DRL hack with PICS?? I don't want to fry anything. Thanks.

This is a pretty easy mod. Key is finding the right fuse taps; I bought mine at a NAPA store.
Perhaps these two pictures will give you a little peace of mind...

I think that first pic answers my question here:
DRL-Fog Light Hack
It looks like at least some US cars have the same Type 53 relay in Position 12 that my Canadian car has, which doesn't exactly match the purple relay in other DIYs.

Let's put it this way, if this hack was any easier, it would be illegal! Thanks for your pics, they helped a lot! I used the NAPA #784601 Fuse Taps, and worked like a charm. I am waiting on a set of LED bulbs to come in to make it even better!

Thanks for the pictures, made it easy to do. Got the LED's on Amazon (as recommended) and wrestled them in. Here's the finished product with parking lights on. Work as described. Go off with high beams, but otherwise on.

Here is a couple of pictures of how I made up the wire to have the Fog Lights serve as DRL's.

OK, I hope I am not the only one with this question, but, what is DRL?

Charles,
I love that look for your DRLs. I also noticed that your side markers have a similar bar-type light as the front - is that correct or just a fluke with the picture? I need to look into these mods!

Hi Troy! How's Japan treating you?
Yeah, I made the side markers using the Depot clear side markers and an encapsulated led strip. I actually just took them off a month or two ago and now have the Hella tinted side markers. I may switch back, but I like the dark look for now.
Here is an old picture (headlights are different because I have lighting ADHD):

I really like the functionality of the fog lights at night since I live in deer country. Folks that have installed LEDs for the DRL hack, how much utility/visibility did you lose over the OEM halo fog light? If you didn't lose any, which leds did you use?

While I drive mostly in the city and freeways, I used to use my fog lights 100% of the time for the extra brightness on my '99. The DRL hack using the LED's does change things. The LED bulbs are not focused/aimed as such and broadcast over a much wider area including up. Thus I don't get the same concentrated light down near the road as I did with the regular fog lights. I don't know if the total lumens are the same or close -- might be. But certainly not as focused. But I do like the idea of being seen better in the daytime, so I guess the trade off was okay for me.
Someday maybe I'll upgrade top the Xenon like I had on my BMW's. Really got spoiled with those, so going back to halogens on my newly-aquired Boxster has been a bit of a throwback.
The LED's I used from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SZK2HQC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
