by "service mode" that means opening the top a few inches and getting to the engine? Its not actually putting the engine into a special valet type mode electrically for service right?

Correct. Just a top opening "status" known as "service position".

How do I change air filter in 986?

Please help me replace the air filter in my 2001 Boxster!

I know how to access the engine bay but couldn't feagure out how to open the air filter box and replace the filter.


Your kind support will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

when you get to the filter box, squeeze the metal tabs and pull up the lid of the filter box, thats about it
