Clutch pedal stiff

97 base model, doesn’t get driven much. Went for a drive last pm and the clutch pedal is much stiffer than it used to be. My wife drives it occasionally and I doubt she could now. I read some stuff that it my be a clutch return spring or slave cylinder. Seems the slave would have no pedal not harder but please enlighten me.

Shifts fine, drives well other than the pedal.

Most likely the clutch booster spring broke. Not an uncommon thing

Its not hard to replace. There are a few threads here and on rennlist

do a search for "clutch booster spring", "clutch booster", "clutch spring", or "booster spring"

you can buy the assembly or replace the spring in the assembly
