I agree, it looks nicely made. Someone please give me the 411 on which throttle body to use. Years, part #, what not to use. Some ebay sellers are selling boxster tb's as 996 parts. They don't mention the mm size in their listings. I even saw one pulled from a 2.5 and being sold as a 996.

I have to check but I think the one I used is part number 996.605.115.01
Can you measure the dimensions? Diameter on the outlet flange side, and bolt spacing?

there is pretty extensive thread conversation about these larger tb's being the same across quite a few platforms despite different part numbers. if i remember right, The Radium King talked about which ones were the same. anyway, the cayman tb i have bolts right up to the 996 plenum T that i have so i'm confident that it has the same dimensions.

Thanks
I just designed it, I have to give credit to the guys @ shapeways for the printing! They know their stuff!
I'm done polishing the inside of the one I just received.
Still have to make sure it is clean and paint it!

I'm really excited to try it out. Thanks again for all the effort you're putting into these.

madmodz, my part number is the same as the one that Meir posted above: 997 605 115 00 and it came off a 2.7 Cayman
this is a really long read but it's how i got interested in ben's product. in it, TRK and others share that 996/997.1/987 throttle bodies will all work. if you go 987, you can use either s or non s. just be mindful that if you're on ebay and you see "boxster throttle body" that the number starts with a 997 and not 986!
http://986forum.com/forums/general-discussions/31693-maf-throttle-body-diameter.html
hope that helps! it took me a bit of time to figure out the right ones too, and you're right, there are quite a few sellers out there either misrepresenting or not knowing what they have.

I think that's 83. I'm not sure if it bolts down to this version Ben made. Down the line I would like to experiment on the dyno with the 74 vs 83. I would time it a month apart after the first dyno to let the ecu adjust to the other throttle size.
Well I scored a used 74mm tb for 70.00 shipped on ebay. The average lately has been about 100 bucks used. I hit him with a 60 dollar best offer and he refused it. Waited about four days and offered up 70.

You're lucky with that price. Average price here is £120 but I've managed to pick one up for £70 all in

This is the 74mm version(99760511501), whereas the 99760511601 is 82mm for GT3RS.

Nope, the 83mm doesn't bolt for now.
I don't think it would be suited for the boxster' small engines.
I can do one for the GT3 TB if someone wants to try it!
The last one is on his way to the other side of the ocean
