It will, a bit later, the first ones will be for shortshifters only, then I'll developp an add-on that will allow it to be used on stock shifters for a few bucks ;)

I received the quote !
It's a few months worth of salary... or a good used car !
I've asked to have a prototype to validate the final part before I fire up the production !

It will fit any short shifter that previously fit the stock L lever.

It will be an alunimum lever, with replaceable delrin inserts. I'm probably include two in the kit.
Ball bearings, and a steel shaft, though, that's still to be tested !

It won't shorten the side-to-side throw as Porsche got at least that right the first time ^^

It'll be a great improvement over stock ! I'm still running the prototype everyday !

I had to take a Cayman Cup for a ride last week, fitted with a Porsche cup shifter... And frankly, I like my setup better !

I know I tease you guys a lot, and you've already been waiting for a while now, but the end of the tunnel is near ;)

Ben

Okay does the L - shape place the knob toward the rear of the console or toward the front?

Ben006 02-17-2019 12:56 AM

It doesn't change the shifter position at all, just the way it feels.
The shift knob can be adjusted, within limits, with the cables though !

I fired up the production !
First step will be the pre-production prototype, then the real production starts ;)

Can’t wait !

Thanks Ben, looking forward to getting one. Will you be selling it directly or through Uniwerks Design?

For the US, through Uniwerks Design ;)
Christopher has helped me a lot, it's been a very good colaboration so far, so we will continue to work together in the future !

And for US customers, it's better because the part arrives sooner and he carries some spare parts too !

Ben,

How about for those of us on your side of the pond? Do we buy from you directly?

Ben what's the latest status on production parts ? Thanks

Ben006 03-26-2019 12:29 PM

I'm waiting to hear from the manufacture about the prototype...

They will have to make a total of 800 parts for the 200 parts production, so I expect it to take some time after the prototype is validated !

I volunteer to test if needed, I am removing my Ben's ball bearing shifter from my Boxster to my Cayman so it would be a perfect time to add it :)
