Painting my hardtop

I`m painting a hardtop a different color.Does the two strips pop off or are they held by screws underneath ? I looked at the parts diagram and saw a clip but no screws.
I like to leave the headliner in if I can

Question Hardtop

Someone sent me the tech drawings on the PCA Boxster Register. I tried to load them here but it`s too big. The file is in boxsterregister.org
exterior painting.

strips

The two strips are held on by plastic clips that attach to a welded stud on the roof. To remove the strips use plastic putty knife or something you can pry with that wont damage the paint. The clips are a one shot deal and are available dealer only. They come in a package of 8. $ per side about $2.50 each.

There was a thread on disassembling the hardtop recently, I think it may have been on BoxsterRegister.org or renntech.org. I can't access them right now, but I remember it had a scan of the service manual page for the hardtop that showed all the parts and how to disassemble/re-assemble. Sorry that I can't find that link for you, but it is out there somewhere

Edit: of course I fouind it seconds later:
http://boxsterregister.org/showthread.php?t=3607&highlight=hardtop

I think registration is required.

DOH I see that this was mentioned earlier.... Sorry.
