It's time to check and change my Transmission Oil.
Can anyone recommend me a decent DIY?

It is a very simple process, if you have the correct equipment. Getting the drain plug out without the correct tool is a bear of a job. It is a 16mm triple square 12 point security bit like this:
 16mm Triple Square XZN Socket for VW/Audi Porsche : Amazon.com : Automotive
If you have that, the only thing to watch for is when refilling, don't refill until it comes out of the fill hole, like every other car in existence. You need to use a "dipstick" to ensure the level is about 11mm below the fill hole. I used a small hex key, but you can use a paperclip or anything that will fit in the hole and show the level.

here is a good write up:
Pelican Technical Article: Boxster Differential / Manual Boxster Transmission Fluid Change - 986 / 987
Lastly, I can't recommend anything other than the Porsche fluid. I exclusively track my car and have used Redline, Swepco, Royal Purple and have had difficulty with them all. The Porsche fluid is expensive, but seems to work far better than any aftermarket.

As you fill the tranny with new fluid, with the car in gear, rotate a wheel so the oil distributes well, otherwise, you risk under filling the tranny.

I punched a hole in my cover to make draining easier. Keep in mind there trans cooling ducts mounted on the cover. Don't think I would want to lose mine unless I had an external cooler.

That cover would help prevent the suspension mounting points from spreading apart too- know?

no, the diagonales do this, its pretty much only a cover that received the dust and dirt

and its in the way when you want to do a trans flush...

i dont know how effective are these little trans duct..
