The camera is focused at infinity and no manual focusing is available. With a wide angle lens of 170 degrees the depth of focus is huge. If your image is fuzzy then as mentioned already you have something on your lens or an internal camera fault.

I did peel some plastic off the lens but it looks like there might be more going on in the camera portion under the lens.

Well if its broke already it cant get much worse so I might as well just take it appart and see if its fixable/cleanable.

Maybe got some HongKong smog trapped in the unit.

BTW Nice Nimbus ...Nimbus, fellow glider pilot here.

Any suggestions re double DIN installation?

Hello everyone. This is a shot of my interior (2001) with parcel shelf below. I'd like to keep it if I could and have the aircon take the place of the disc storage unit. The double DIN unit to be installed. From what I can gather on this forum. I need a Connects2 kit for DD but what do I do for the plastic surround to replace the disc storage unit with the narrower aircon unit? Is my configuration peculiar to Australia?

Rick, I know its a long post but what you need to know is here. Do a search or start with post one and skim through for what you need.

Moving the ac to the disk tray should be no problem at all and not require any extra parts.

Upgraded from the clarion single din I installed when I bought the car in 2013. Bought a Chinese one on eBay. It was $279. Nav, Bluetooth, wifi, and android based.

Before:

During:

After:

Still not quite done. The paint ran on me. Have to fix that. Did not buy the $150 kit. Used a piece of lexan and painted it flat black.

The native Nav software is nice. Very Garmin like. However, you can use any Nav software you like that is available for android. Google maps, Waze, etc. You can even program the Navi button to whatever software you prefer.

Played with it a little more. Finally figured out how to get the OBD2 adaptor paired to it.

Tracks all kinds of things, and reads trouble codes.

I just ordered a quad core Android 4.4.4 (Kit-Kat) head unit and this thread makes me think I should go for the Connects2 fit kit (which will take a while to get here, hopefully safely.) I feel like the bezel looks best (it's not flat and cheap-looki), it seems to have a decent cage, and isn't as insanely-priced as the $160 Euro Motorspeed kit.

Looking forward to playing with Torque on the Boxster. Which OBDII dongle did you go with? Bluetooth or WiFi?
