Angry HELP-Oil leak from oil seperator

I have noticed an oil leak from the rear of my 3.2 boxter, when inspected there is a great deal of oil all around the oil seperator, on close inspection it looks like it spraying oil all over the left hand side of the engine.
Can this item be replace or cleaned out, is it blocked possibly. It looks difficult to get of. Anyone had this problem, does it need fixing urgently

Thanking you in anticipation of a quick rely.

Megan

Replacing the AOS is relatively straightforward DIY job. Takes about 1 hour, working both from on top and from underneath, with the right rear wheel removed.
You should also replace the "J-tube", although there is a different version of this tube for later 986's IIRC.
Take a look at Mike Focke's Boxster pages for a better idea of what is involved, here: http://mike.focke.googlepages.com/airoilseparatorreplacement

In some instances, a faulty AOS can cause major engine damage if oil gets into the cylinders and causes "hydrolock". If yours is only leaking externally, it may not be as urgent, but tread cautiously.

Regards. Maurice.

Many thanks

Just what I needed, husband had looked at the problem and there was a great deal of oil around the seperator, and the smell. Will now source replacement part.

Thanks again for your help

Best regards

If you clamp a small pair of vise grips on the spring clamp at the bottom of the bellows it will make the hose easier to remove as it holds pressure off the stock spring clamp. Leave the small vise grips attached when re-installing and the bellows hose will slide on easy, then remove the vise grips from below and spring clamp will hold again.
