I have only had my 986 for about 1 1/2 weeks now and I was trying to figure out the easiest way to take off the engine cover and check the engine out from above. The hardest part for me was disconnecting the cables. I also appreciate the comment you made about the power steering fluid. Sure enough, mine was also low. I will get some soon and fill it back up.
