Get a Porsche 918 for Christmas!

If your significant other can't figure out what to get you for Christmas, how about asking for the mid-engined Porsche you've always wanted...

Car number 25 of 918.
365 actual miles.
Weissach (lightweight) package.
Basalt Black Metallic over Black Leather with Acid Green detailing.

Asking $1,778,105.

I'd suggest offering $1,778,000 even and see if they bite.

eBay UK Porsche 918 Spyder

They should advertise as 1 of 918 like how the 550 Spyders are described as on fleabay (1 of 1953) even though the number is never 1 of 1953, in order to get full asking!

You even get the matching luggage set! That should seal the deal - tell the wife you will take her on a nice trip after you get it!

Financed over 6 years it's only $22,500 a month assuming you have good credit

Aroldis Chapman can make those payments! I estimate him making about $17k per pitch next season (really). Of course, his warm up pitches are gratis.

This is my first post. I've never owned a Porsche. I've raised 3 kids, put them through college, purchased cars for them, paid for their insurance, purchased a home and now in my 61st year, I have asked Santa for a Boxter S.

I just purchased my wife a 2016 Mazda MX-5 for her 60th Birthday. After driving dad cars, mini-vans, cross overs, and other bogus vehicles for the past 35 years, its my time now.

I'm in the process of purchasing one and I hope I don't jinx it. Hoping for a good PPI and Bank appraisal. We should close the sale right after Christmas. I hope Santa is good to me, because I've been a very good boy this year. :-)

Thanks to all on this forum for the valuable lessons and education. Seems like a great group of folks to get to know.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all!

@algiorda

Assuming you don't get coal this year please share some pics with us, sounds like a boxster may be going to a good home this winter!

Your story sounds very similar to mine, Al. I wish you the best of luck with the purchase and that this will be the best holiday ever for you! These old cars are still very capable of making your sports car and driving dreams come true. And don't forget, as Jake says, we need to see the pics, too.

Your situation is spookily similar to mine - 62, put three kids through college, bought my wife a 2016 Mazda CX5. In April 2016 I finally rewarded myself with a 2001 Boxster S. I must say, it's the finest car I have ever driven or owned. Go for it!

I'm starting to think this is more of a support group for us old empty nesters, than a car club forum!!

I AM in the right place.

As soon as I get the title to the car, I will post pictures. I love seeing the pictures and personalized specimens of Boxters on this forum. I'd love to see a sticky thread just on photos of everyone's cars. I've been reading posts here for hours on end trying to catch up.
