In respectful deference to the OP, I think this color is Ocean Blue Metallic which is an optional color (about $800 in 1999) and is a stunning color in person. For some reason it never seems to photograph well (it often looks black), but in person, especially on a sunny day, it is jaw dropping.

As the sun hits the depths of the finish it has a chameleon like effect of slowly changing from bright blue to deep purple depending on the intensity of the light it is reflecting. It is a challenging color to upkeep, it seems to show swirls and dirt even worse than black, but when clean it attracts lots of attention.

I may be biased though, my car is also Ocean Blue Metallic and Savannah Beige.
