That is a magnificent looking car and I think it is priced right to sell to a knowledgeable buyer. Put a sign on it and park it in a busy location like an upscale mall. It will be sold shortly. The perfect fathers day gift for a lucky guy. Best of luck with the sale John.

Has RMS been checked? Any issue there?

John99Boxster 06-18-2012 02:06 AM

Thanks TOP.....

RMS or IMS? Neither have had any issues. I am like 98% of us....I have not had the IMS replaced for fear in the unknown.

I dont buy into forum scare tactics concerning catastrophic failures. This and forums like this one are full of FEAR MONGERS
that tend to scare the heck out of us. I just don't buy into it.

I look at it this way......for every one person that complains about or experiences an IMS failure, there are thousands who are completely
happy with and love their cars and just don't post threads with the title "I FREAKING LOVE MY BOXSTER with the ORIGINAL IMS BEARING"!

Just MHO

In respectful deference to the OP, I think this color is Ocean Blue Metallic which is an optional color (about $800 in 1999) and is a stunning color in person. For some reason it never seems to photograph well (it often looks black), but in person, especially on a sunny day, it is jaw dropping.

As the sun hits the depths of the finish it has a chameleon like effect of slowly changing from bright blue to deep purple depending on the intensity of the light it is reflecting. It is a challenging color to upkeep, it seems to show swirls and dirt even worse than black, but when clean it attracts lots of attention.

I may be biased though, my car is also Ocean Blue Metallic and Savannah Beige. :D

Thank you for the check TOP!

I know exactly what you mean about the effect of the sun on the color....purple hues.

Though it's not in the listing (but is in the signature)...

I would certainly edit the original post to make mention that the top is a GAHH top with glass, not the plastic window. The top alone was $800-$1500 and the buyer will not have to worry about cracked plastic!
