Jumping into SBP

I'm a long time racer, sold my LS3-powered 944 last summer. Just bought a '99 boxster to start my build. Will update as I go, and thanks in advance for answering future questions.

Made the trip to Nashville yesterday to pick up the car. Once home I got it started (dead battery) and much to my liking, the thing runs and drives like a champ. Everything appears to be in working condition at this point. Going to swap out the brake fluid, add front rotors and put it on the track this weekend at Barber (I'll be teaching the classroom sessions for JTI). Not planning on pushing it, just want to check it out.

I'd address them.

To an address a long ways away...

Wheels are off, for 3K, I was not worried about them. Trading a number of 9x17 cup IIs for 8.5x17s that are legal. That will happen on Monday. Will be looking for more, would like at least three full sets.

Brake fluid was changed with Motul 600, rotors replaced. Need to change engine and trans oil tomorrow.

Weight loss begins next week.

Dropped the car off at Barbers today, looking forward to 70oF and sunny skies over the weekend. Borrowed my enkei track wheels from my 981 for the weekend.

Car ran much better than I would have expected last week at Barber; engine feels strong.

Started pulling weight out at the track, 50 lbs of subwoofers

Traded some 9x17 cup II's to a friends who runs SP3, for a set of 8.5x17 BBS wheels, as well as finding 4 twists on ebay for a reasonable price.

Springs and FVD sump are in, suspension will be here this week. Started pulling carpets and misc as well. Project is moving along.

I got a good laugh from those subs where the surrounds look to have been surgically removed. Not even a trace!

The new wheels should look good.

Spent a few hours trying to mount my race seat to the stock slider, it works, but the seat sits too high, so for now, it is bolted to the floor.

Pulled another 60+ lbs out of the cars yesterday. Gutted the doors, transformed the soft top to manual until I get my hard top, removed rear spoiler mechanisms, etc. Plan on installing the coilovers today as well as the FVD oil pan and baffle.

Bilsteins and rear toe links installed and did a quick corner balance and alignment tonight. Car is down to 2610 with 1/3 tank of gas and still much more to come out. Will be able to do some testing at Barber this weekend.
