In my little part of town I have actually only seen two other Boxsters, and one beat up 944 But they all get a wave and I have tried to ask the Boxster owners where they get there services done as I don't really want to go into Tamps, but haven't had that opportunity yet.
On the flip side, I do get a lot of "nice car" comments from others

I offer to introduce him to my third wife. This in turn will prepare him for any IMS catastrophe that might occur .

I always wave to other Boxster drivers. Often once the ice is broken, they want to stop and talk about our cars. Met some very nice owners this way.

Oddly enough, the Boxster is the only car I have driven that when seen by another Boxster owner they will wave at me. It's like Fight Club.

i tend to wave and/or flash. half of the time, the boxsters will wave/flash back. 911s seem to ignore me. the panameras and cayennes seem oblivious as well - i assume they're too busy yelling at the kids or wondering how they'll make it to soccer practice and piano recitals with enough time.
by far the more likely to wave/flash back are the older cars / owners. i guess it's more that they understand what's going on.

I too came from a sport bike background and here in Texas all the bikes wave. In fact, driving in my car I see bikers (not the road furniture bikers - the REAL kind) wave and get jealous….make me want to be 'out there'. The all know there is a risk in what they are doing, that is what binds them.
And I thought NJ and FL were nice places with nice people….if you get tired of not being waved to - come on down - we'll treat you like family and always give you a wave.
The rest are just posing, not having fun. So I must ask, why buy a fun car if you are wearing a frown?
This car is a blast…you should be spreading the joy!

In my part of Ohio any Porsche sighting is rare. Last night on base (Wright Patterson AFB), I met a silver Boxster being driving by a Fox (Fox in Box as Dr Seuss would say). Anyway, I flashed my headlights and she returned the headlight flash along with a wave and a great big smile.

I wave and sometimes take a picture of the box from my box.
But they usually don't wave back. More 911 guys wave back to me than Boxster guys.
This one guy goes a little too far. I see him driving his yellow box nearly every day. And he never drives it without wearing his yellow cap to match.
I never wave to Panamera or Cayenne guys. No flat-6, no wave.

People under really old or relatively young will always wave. It's the late thirties and early forties that drive around looking at everyone down their nose. I make it a point to catch up to any boxster I see and wave at them.
Also, women driving boxsters never wave back.

crap shoot waive
Boaters waive too...however not as many as before, just like neighbors rarely acknowledge each other, if so only to complain. People are different now sometimes , I think its better to not waive, say hello hold doors or whatever. Owned the box for a year and a half, had one waive from a women in the exact car as well as a thumbs up from a 924. For the most part it is straight ahead for most other p car owners. The forum sums it up pretty well as usual.
