What would cause this to happen?

Car is parked in garage and locked when for no reason the horn beeps and the parking lights flash. What are anyones thoughts on this or has this happened to anyones auto? Would like some feedback or help.

Regards,
Tweed

It could mean that something was left open on a Boxster/Porsche,it could be any trunk, door, the center console storage spot behind the handbrake or the you didn't lock the top hatch. On other cars it could be one of those motion sensor alarms that give a warning before it's set off.

Hi,

Sounds to me that something set off the motion sensor inside the car. It's an IR sensor and does not detect the motion of the car, rather it detects if something is moving inside it.

Maybe a pamphlet fell from the visor or you have a spider or fly, if not some rodentia. Sounds like a job for the Cat!...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

Any chance this could be a battery thing? I've heard of car electronics doing funny things with a low or bad battery...

Wouldn't the motion sensors trip the alarm and not just beep the horn and flash the lights once or is this how it's set up on the Boxster?
