I’m hoping someone can help. I have an 2003 Boxster S. I recently changed the engine over went in without issue but when it comes to starting it won’t fire. Turns over sounds healthy but just keeps spinning and won’t fire has anyone got any suggestions as to what the issue may be.

Unhappy Won't start

I've recently swapped engine and gearbox on my 2003 986 S. All fitted nice and neat no major problems with the swap. My problem is it wont start. It turns over but wont fire. Current situation is its on a ramp wheels off roof down. I've tried locking and unlocking and all the what my mechanic thinks is the obvious stuff but just wont fire up. Have you experts any idea of what to try next

Are you getting fuel? Are you getting spark?

My simple answer: Go back, as many times as it takes, and figure out what you failed to connect, or connect properly.

Do you see any codes that have been thrown? That might help focus your efforts.

First thing to do is determine if the issue is due to no spark or no fuel or both?
Get a can of starting fluid spray some into the intake then crank the motor over.
If it fires or sputters then that will tell you that your getting spark but not getting fuel.
Very simple test that will give you a direction to go.

Nallace - I’ve merged your threads. You don’t need to make multiple inquiries for the same issue.

No, without the correct signal from the immobilizer, the DME will not allow the car to run.
