Angry Foreign body in soft top well

I placed a small tracking unit between the layers of the soft top above the driver's door to see if it would work there. While removing the tracking device, I dislodged it to the rear, and it fell down into the bowels of the car somewhere in the well that receives the soft top when it is moved to the “down” position. I heard it go down the space between the layers of the top to the rear of the cabin on the driver's side.
Does anyone have any suggestions for where to look for the device in the car? I would settle for an easy way to get into that area in question.
I cannot see it from the interior of the cabin. This is not an emergency but I would like the new foreign body out of the car.
Thanks for any help with this relatively minor problem. There is no benefit to telling me how dumb I am, I already figured that out.

...so you need to "track the tracker"......the area where the cover stores when the top is down is really pretty much an enclosed area. I'm not sure how big or what color the tracker is but usually a bright light scoping the area may help.

Hopefully it won't interfere with the raising or lowering mechanism.....

IF it were me, I search as best I can but IF not located I'd probably just forget about it.....think of this way, IF someone wants to steal the car they too might never see a tracker which is good! You'll always know where your car is!

Of course you need to bring the top into service position first. It shouldn't be too difficult to find the thing, I would combine the search with a cleaning of the drains, maybe it is behind the cover piece of the belt...
