I do the suction method oil change on my other cars, but with all the history of the Boxster engine I want to be able to get a better look at the oil. Can't do that thoroughly enough without looking at the magnet on the drain plug... if you don't have a magnetic drain plug, you ought to get one.

Even if I have to get under a car to get at the filter, I find the suction method less likely to result in cleaning up spills- I know, it's possible to do it the regular way without spilling, but it just doesn't seem to happen that way.
