Not everyone’s Luck has been awful this week... :)

			Hi,
Not everyone’s Luck has been awful this week, though I sympathize with those whose was.

Since Monday, Mrs. MNBoxster and I have been in Fabulous Las Vegas , at the Wynn Resort (beautiful Suite) on the Strip attending the PGA Tour Championship annual convention.

This convention is always her last travel trip for the year and her company always buys me an airline ticket so I can accompany her (one of the perks for her 180+ days/yr. on-the-road). This convention has been held in some wonderful places in past years, such as Maui,HI, Ponte Vedre, FL, Hilton Head, SC, amongst others.

Monday was an off-day and we arrived at McCarran at 8:30 AM local time, so we checked-in, then walked around (Mrs. MNBoxster’s 1st visit to Vegas), shopped, and ate some marvelous food.

Yesterday, Mrs. MNBoxster had to attend to biz for 3 hrs., while I played a round of Golf with some of the PGA guys I’ve come to know. When she was finished, we played a couple casinos (combined winnings of $700), ate more incredible food, and saw the Cirque Du Soleil ‘O’ at the Bellagio, good show.

Today, Mrs. MNBoxster was involved all day, so I decided to spend the afternoon in several casinos with our $700 winnings. All she said when leaving was “Try not to lose it all …” - “Thanks for the vote of confidence Honey …”
Well, I started at the Crap Table (the only Game I play – best odds) at the Mirage and after 30 min. was up $7k (after cashing out with the IRS!). Feeling like I was on a streak, I then went to the Table at the Venetian. 30 min. later, I was up another $5,178 (again, Net !). Cashed out and decided on one more stop - the Paris Resort. Bad Plan ! Down $4k in the first 10 min! Decided to cut my losses and go back to the Wynn, still not bad, up $8,178 for the day.

On the way, I stopped at Ballys for a beer and a bite. I just couldn’t help myself, I moved to the Crap Table and another 30 min. later walked out of Ballys with another $9,462 (again – Net)!

A total of an hour and forty-five minutes work for $17,640 for a grand total of $18,340 for the week! Going to keep $2,500 here for the next 3 days, but already wired $15k to my Bank back home - done gambling for the week, I ain’t giving none of it back! This is one thing that ain’t staying in Las Vegas!

4:30, back now at the Wynn. Mrs. MNBoxster only really wanted to see two things here in Vegas – The Pirate Ship at Treasure Island and see Celine Dion in concert at Caesar’s. Treasure Island shut down the Ship for annual maintenance the day we arrived until Dec. 20, and only poor, Nose Bleed , seats were available from the Box Office for Celine, so she decided to pass, but was very disappointed.

Well, $750 to the Concierge at Wynn’s, and I got 2 to Celine, Front Row Center ! (Actually, not my kind of show, but she loves Celine – whataya gonna do?) Brenda’s not back yet from the convention, but she’s going to be ecstatic! I ordered a bottle of ’99 Cristal (the year we got married) on ice and a Raw Plate so we can snack before leaving for the show. Later we have reservations at NOBU, a wonderful Japanese restaurant and Sushi Bar… we’re gonna have some night! VIVA LAS VEGAS!!!!

Happy Motoring!... Jim’99

Glad you and the Mrs. are having fun! Ok now do yourself a favor and go back when the pools at Ceasar's Palace are open. Something tells me that you may have some fun & good laughs ahead. I think James would agree.

Hi,

Actually, you're right. I've been helping support Las Vegas since the '70s. Never lost more than a Grand on any given trip, but over the years, it all adds up. If I'm in the + column, it isn't by much...
You're also right about Kraft's. I ate there a few years ago and we ate there Monday night - she loved it...

			That's awesome. Good for you!
I liked that O show a lot. Very smart to send your winnings back via wire before it ends up back in the Casino's hands. So does this mean you'll be ordering up those Litronics now? J/K.

Hi,

We shopped at Caesars on Monday and the Pools were open, we looked (I'd seen them b4), but it's in the 40s here this week (very unusual) so no one is out there, including us!

So is it a done deal that with your winnings, you'll now sell your Boxster (that you've said you don't like, that none of your friends even know you have, and that you can make money on), and you'll now take your winnings and buy something that you can be proud of?

We can only hope...

Hi,

Actually, $18k+ total. Naw... been there, done that. I may be setting my sights on a Noble M400. But, it'll take a little more time (and a few more days like today) to get there...

Hi,

Well, actually all of the above, + Betting the Field, Horn, World, Puts, Buys, Hops, Lays and more depending upon circumstance.

Over the years, Craps has become somewhat a religion for me, or maybe better, a very expensive education. Which, at least in the past several years, has finally started to pay off...
