Hi,

For me it's a no-brainer. We'll see permanent snow here in the next 3-4 weeks, and the roads are always full of salt until late April.

Are there some days in-between when you could drive the car? I suppose you could take the car out, but you can't really drive it, so what's the point?

I'd rather store it, keep the miles lowered and really be able to drive it when I can...

Stored last Sunday for the winter. Drive a Mini Cooper S in winter. Nothing like the Boxster S but I will make due.
The storage procedure has the tires at 50 psi. What's it like to drive the Boxster a couple of times in the winter on clear days with this much air in the tires? Or do you deflate for the drive and then pump them back up when you put it away again?

you know its suprising, b4 i even got the car, last winter i saw at least 20 boxsters being driven trough a storm and shortly after it as well when the roads have cleared.
guess people cant stop driving them, and ill be driving mine too

The old 911 gets stored but of the roads are ok for some fun driving the Boxster is coming out to play.

No way! I'd go into Boxster withdrawal if I couldn't drive it all winter. Weekday ride is the Number 1 train in Manhattan. Weekends reserved for the Boxster.

This will be my first winter with my Boxster and I am NOT going to store it. I plan on driving it the entire season. I only have to drive 3.5 miles to the train station. Naperville is usually pretty good about clearing its roads.

As for salt when it starts to build up on the car I'll just wash it off in my driveway.

I have to store my sport bikes for the winter and I have so much fun on the Boxster to let it sit in my garage.

yea i take a train on daily bases, so i just have to take it to the train station that is like 7 miles from my house on a major road, other than that its all pleasure driving, and here they clean up the roads b4 it even gets a chance to stick

Djomlas, I have barely seen 20 Boxsters in the Chicago area the past 12 months, let alone during the winter driving season. Maybe I need to look better!

My car went into Winter Storage on October 21st. It will come out in early March 2007!

Store your car? In the winter? This is strange.....Here in Texas we do not know of such things. It is supposed to be in the mid 80's today, and the only time we don't take them out of the garage is when it might snow once every two or three years. But it's usually all gone by the next day.

I usually get quite a few top down driving days in December, January and February. By March, it's perfect. By June, the top goes up and the A/C goes on and usually stays that way until September.

Airboxster, please check you owners manual. The tires should be over-inflated to about 58-59 PSI. Not 50PSI.

I would also not drive with the tires that over-inflated. You would need to deflate, drive, then over-inflate for storage again.
