I believe that every vehicle that I own should (except for the race hauler Dodge van) hit redline at least a couple times during every drive. Fortunately, I am about seven minutes from a nice twisty stretch of mountain road. Sometimes coming back from work, I extend the commute a bit ...

I have no idea if there is scientific validation for my theory. But dammit it feels right.

We used to call it "blowing out the carbon" Usually seen when a little old lady from Pasadena tries to merge onto freeway in front of a semi.
