Question Blue Painter Tape for Road Trip Front Protection?

Hey Forum,

So I’ve been back and forth on Boxster “post-purchase” vehicle transporter, my truck and UHAUL trailer, or fly out and drive back.

If doing the fly and drive back, trying to think of something to protect bumper and lower hood paint temporarily - I’d hate to ruin a nice paint job! I’ve seen people use that blue painters tape on track days has anyone used on a couple day road trip or have a better (quick delivery or buy down the street) solution???

Thanks for any helpful feedback!

You could also use plastidip. Spray it on then peel it off later.

I'd be a little sketchy about plastidip. -- I have read horror stories about it pulling up paint.

Generally we use painters tape without issue on the track and when trailering the car cross-country with no issues.

I've used the purple "Scotch Delicate Surface Painter’s Tape" for surfaces that could be compromised by a more aggressive blue painters tape; with good results.

I'm not sure if this would be applicable in your case, but then again.........

I'm just sayin'..........

No different to stories you hear about PPF then. But I've seen it in action on some of the cars that have done driving tours in Europe with me. Cheap, quick and effective if a bit unsightly.
