That's not exactly the way I recall it, but I still like to think back and smile about it.
Regarding her question, could it be more like a gurgling from an air pocket in the cooling system?
Or do the vents go into a "parked" position when you shut off the car? I haven't noticed it in my 02, but my Town and Country does that and it makes a sound that could be considered a "gulp". I think I've heard it in my Outback as well.
