Angry Interior light problem

BOXSTER 986 1997, interior dome light is not working and also the lights in the door are inoperative, both sides dont work. I tested the ground at the dome light is ok but there is no 12v. I think is the same circuit for both the dome light and the doors, also the fuse is ok. I need help with this one.

Well, there is no fuse, so it’s not “ok”

The lights receive constant 12V+ from the immobilizer (connector 2, pin 4, red wire with black stripe) and the ground is switched. Do the front and rear trunk lights work (they all have the same positive power source)?

If not, check for voltage at the immobilizer.
If voltage is present, you may need to do some digging for the break or short.

Hey PW. Your reply made me wonder about my dome light issue. My dome/door lights only work with the key on. In other words, if I open the door with the key off they don't work. If I turn the key on and open the door they come on.

The trunk release works only if I have the key on, but the frunk hasn't worked since I bought the car. (I tested the actuator by running 12v directly to it and it works.) But that's a separate issue.

If they are all on the same power source, that power source only comes on when the key is on. Is there a way to change that to be on at all times?

History: 2002 boxtser. bought it with a bad immobilizer. replaced it with a good used one, but swapped the eeproms.

I didn't even know the "factory delivery" mode even existed. I wonder if my Durametric can reset it. I'll give that a try first, then go to the stealer.

No problem. Please let me know if that was the issue. It’s sounds weird enough to be true. Rick
