Cleaning OEM Car Cover/Plastic Window Protection

I've got a couple of issues:

1. How difficult is it to clean an OEM Porsche "Silver" car cover? Can you recommend a method.

2. I'll be putting my hardtop on in a month or two, and the soft top will in the open position with the plastic window folded on itself. Do you think it would be a good idea to put a cloth between the two halves of the window to prevent rubbing and possible damage?

Thanks

As for #1 I would recommend:

1) Use a large washing machine at the local laundry matt, side loader is best
2) Mild soap, maybe Woolitte, don't use a soap with a fabric softener
3) Tumble dry 1/2 way, then air dry the remainder

I looked for fabric care directions on my Porsche car cover, and I can not find any.

Garage
Factory hardtops came with a piece of fleece to place on the rear window as it is folded in preparation of installing the hard top.

Just go to your local sewing/cloth store and buy a yard of fleece, it will be enough for 2 cars.

I bought my hardtop used so the fleece didn't come with it. I saw the cloth insert in the owner's manual and I was wondering what kind of material it was made of.

I have an opportunity to purchase a used OEM car cover. The owner described it as slightly soiled. I just wanted to be sure I could clean it before I put it on my car.

Thanks.
