It's not that simple, really. Most cheapo cameras have loop recording with maybe an hour or two of storage. (depending on what size card they can accept) If the car is sitting overnight, any event may get recorded over. Even if it has g-force recording, a light scrape may not be enough to trigger it, and it won't get saved.
Looks like "parking mode" may be the better feature because it seems to be more sensitive. Even then, it may not even catch it.
