Shifter Swap

Has anyone swapped a stock shifter for the sport shifter? Any ideas about how hard that would be?

Easy. Remove console, remove cables, 4 bolts and reverse.

If you're talking about installing a short shifter its a little bit more involved than that. You have to break off factory pieces is the hardest part.
Check Utube for videos.

Or, just buy the factory short shifter and call it good. Search, many threads avail. As long as your cables are good etc it is an easy job overall. The hardest part is getting the console out. 997 shifters are bolt in upgrade and worth the $$$.

Garage
I bought Ben's short shifter and it's fantastic. Very easy installation, no modification of anything required, though I think what JBauer is talking about is I ended up breaking the factory bushings as it was easier to remove the stock shifter that way. As noted by others, just takes time to get the console out, but not difficult.
