2008 Bmw M3

The new (upcoming) M3 is really starting to get my interest. It will have the same body style as the new 335i, which in my opinion is a beautiful looking car. It will also come with a V8 for the first time with over 400hp - nice!

The icing on the cake is that the expected MSRP is about $53K, sounds pretty reasonable for a car like that.

I also like that it actually has a back seat and I could bring the kids along (unlike the boxster).

Another point of interest is that they are coming out with a hardtop convertible for the same body (335i convertible) with the twin turbo 300hp six. That sounds interesting as well.

Just curious if anyone else had thoughts.

I drove a 335 yesterday and it was really nice. By the time you load it up it's just under $50k and they're not dealing.

M3 coupe = sports car
M3 convertible/3 series convertible = cruiser

anyhoo hats off to BMW, actual leading the industry with design and
not following it like Merc(zz) and Audi(zzz) and VW(zzzzzzzzzz).

by the way Saturn is putting 260 HP and torque into its sharp looking roadster.

You cant go wrong with an M car. Value is unbeatable. Performance is excellent. Build quality is excellent. You definately get respect driving an M vs. any other BMW.

I am not crazy about the looks of the current 3 series coupe though. I would have to drive the 335 tt before making any judgements. I am sure the M3 V8 is going to be a sweet machine. I have driven many M3s , Z8s, M5s, M Roadsters.. all were very impressive!

50k these days will certainly give you a handful of excellent choices in cars!

M3 Coupe = GT

The '08 is gonna be so bad (as in cool). Everyone that is on the fence about it will succumb later to its appearance and benefits. This is my promise to you all.

This is a bold claim (and only an opinion, whiners).
The M3 will be the best car on the planet! (during its stay here)

If I could afford one, I'd be all over this car!
I'd take it over anything from AMG to Z06.

this new bmw reminds me of the 850ci bmw. i actually really like the way the 335 looks. gone are those days of looking like a civic.

i think this 335 might just be the car of the year, its very nice. i saw my first one on the street yesterday.

i still hate bmw, over priced over rated. buy ahhh benzo.

" I still hate bmw, over priced"

Hmm, and you are driving a Porsche?

Frankly, I think all the German cars here in the USA are pricey but, hey, exchange rate and all!

I was driving an M3 with the competition package, faster steering ratio compound brakes etc... a slightly sharper car v. the standard M3 and while it was a great car and I actually miss it and am considering the new one, I drove it before and after test drives with the Cayman and Boxster S and they both made the M3 feel like an overweight cat.

They are two different cars (M3/Boxster) and I love the M products. In a perfect world I would love my wife to get the new M3 when her current lease is up (745) and I would be free to get the supernatural Boxster.
