Looks cool, i guess a good set of ear phones and a prerecorded F1 sound track will add excitement!

The good people of Montreal generally feel the same way. I say 'Come back when you have a car that'll run for 3 hours with only stops for tire changes ...

Probably be a connection free magnetic charge spot. Make more sense nothing to connect up, probably safer. I guess at some point we can see the need to be greener, save gas for us!

They should embed electrical conductors in the track and have a groove the cars can align with to keep in position.

I've been an avid race car fan for a long time , from sprint cars to indy cars to sports cars and F1 and everything in between . I have witnessed some amazing cars/teams/drivers . Have also seen a LOT of changes over the years . Remember when Audi announced they were going diesel ? Lots of laughing and statements it can't be done , won't sound right etc. but yet they pulled it off with a lot of race wins . It wasn't that long ago that folks were laughing at Porsche for the V4 of the 919 , it didn't take Porsche very long to make that platform successful .
Like it or not Formula E is the next generation of race technology . When names like Porsche , Audi and Jaguar get involved there is a reason . I am sure there were a LOT of strategy meetings at Porsche before the decision was made to pull out of WEC and go to FE . I am also sure some of it was budget driven .

Formula E has their work cut out for them , they hear the fans loud and clear and have to make adjustments . It won't be too much longer ( in my opinion ) that the driver/car change will be history . They either will have the technology for the batteries to last an entire race distance with reserve OR a battery quick change system . It's just a matter of time . In regards to sound or lack of I as a fan do NOT want some fake channeled sound , leave them electric quiet . We will get used to it and it opens up chances to run the cars in venues ( any venues ) that have noise restrictions . As a race fan I embrace new technology but I'm not going to give up my Boxer six !!!

I'm not a race fan. But race cars help advance the science. Always have. Probably always will. E cars that require battery mileage and speed is a good thing and will filter down to the the road rated cars.
If you think Formula E is gonna be boring, don't go and certainly don't watch on TV.
Might be more interesting than anyone of us can know.

like racing? sad about electric cars? just head out to your local racetrack to watch some amateur racing. loud, in your face, stinks of brakes, clutch and hot oil, always get a good seat, costs next to nothing, and you can walk the pits and talk to the drivers afterwards.

One cool thing about Formula E is the potential to run courses that you wouldn't otherwise be allowed to race on due to local noise ordinances, particularly urban streets.

			Uhm...there is no sound?
Those e-thingies are louder than fighter jets inside.

pretty impressive

I attended 2 formula 1 races long time ago...not a fan of that obnoxiously loud high pitched sound.
Liked the V12 Mercedes pace car sound much better. That sound reminded me of a low altitude flying Me-109.
