Re-covering roll bars

Does anyone have a pre-made kit for this? my 2001 Boxter's roll bar coverings have seen better days.

I don't think so but check with Woody (forum name itsnotanova - or search for Woody's Used Parts LLC and give him a call) - I bought a second set from him awhile back so I could modify them, the set he sold me were in great shape.

Any color you want! Powder coating.

Too much time, too much money on your hands. Duct tape comes in all sorts of patterns and colors these days!

The front side leather or vinyl pieces just pry off and plenty are available from eBay dismantlers.

If by "covering" you refer to paint on the back side ...

are you talking the three padded pieces that come with the rollbar, or the aftermarket overlays that you can add:

So, the black padding just pops off. Fasteners hood them on?

Yes, each hoop covering has 3 threaded studs that push into plastic inserts (98658075100) that go into holes in the rollbar hoop. You can pry off the cover using a plastic trim tool to start it and then maybe a big screwdriver for leverage, and then you can unscrew the little plastic pieces from the threaded studs. To replace, place the plastic inserts into the holes in the rollbar hoop, line up the threaded studs from the cover, and give it a whack with your hand to seat them.

nice find...I thought they were out of production!
btw...Keep in mind that the air diffusers NEED to be modded, as they won't really snap into place anymore (easy trick...black plastic cable fasteners...keeps even people away from snatching them)
