18 inch 987.1/987.2 boxster Cayman wheels

I've got an opportunity to purchase four (4) 18 inch wheels from a MY 2005 Boxster or Cayman.

They have the standard 130mm bolt pattern. These are the offsets:

2x 8J Offset ET57
2x 9J Offset ET43

Will they fit a 1999 Boxster?

They are the same offsets as the 18” Caymans I have put on my 03 S.

The fit for the rear is perfect I think. For the front I have 7mm spacers to install but they fit without them with no rubbing on the inside strut. I want the spacer to push them out a little. 10mm would be ideal as I want to keep the staggered track. No need for spacers on the rear I think but you could fit some if you wanted a wider look.

They fill the arches much better and the view from the rear is more purposeful. Very pleased with them and will keep the 17” for track use with a more track orientated tyre.

Not sure why tire sizes you have but with the 18’s and the wider tires there is a lot more grip so for our wet twisty Irish roads the extra security is nice.

Traco,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Based on your reply, I am going to purchase the wheels and put on 18 inch tires per model year 2005.

I think I saw you had a 1999? If so, don't go with the 2005 tires sizes, you want ones that are closer to a 25" diameter, I think 225/40/18 and 265/35/18 are the 986 Boxster tock 18" sizes. The 2005 sizes may work but may not be optomal.

Smoking deals on those wheels too
