Plastic window

Hi Chaps
I have a great 2000 986 S. The hood is in great shape even the plastic window but im kind of sick of doing the chop. To the extent where it puts me off putting the roof down

I would like the glass roof but not the narrow slit ones. No offence to the slit owners.

My question is this. Will the later 986 roof with the glass window fit straight onto my car? I could get one from a breaker at a reasonable price then get it recovered in the Metropole blue.

Im sorry if this question has been asked before

I was reading on the net that the first boxsters to become classics (if they ever do) will be the ones still running the amber turn lights and plastic windows...... Illl keep my old hood just incase lol

Peter

Garage
Yes, easy to install, 6 bolts and two arms if you get the top complete with the 4 bow frame.

The glass must be narrow in order for the roof to fold properly. Best is a complete frame and top from a '03-'04 986 from a breakers or someone converting a car to a racecar. Instructions are here.
