Easy. I determined to not hide behind an alias, to be responsible for every post I made. So I use my real name. And in every forum.
I've been online since before the internet and from its inception. I've seen what can happen when people forget that there are consequences to their words. Doesn't mean I've been always right, just that I try to be. |
Some 25 years ago I was new to the internet.
Some would say I was a surfer and took the name before Quicksilver Surf could... Well I don't surf. But I did have a Mercury outboard on an old boat I had. I was sitting at my desk trying to think of an email address for AoL. That's when I saw a bottle of Mercury's 2 stroke Quicksilver Outboard oil mix sitting on my desk. Shortened it, and bam! Name. On other forums I am Qckslvr240, I had a 72 240Z with triple side draft Delortos at the time. Even though I no longer have the car, it still remains to be one of my favorites so the 240 hangs around for nostalgia. :D |

No Mall Ninja here, my name....Paul Dwight Cheers |
What's the story behind your forum name?
Mine is a simple but sad story. I have several names on various forums and other public medium sites; they were chosen for being humorous, whimsical and unique. After an ugly divorce, the ex continues to stalk, highjack, socially engineer into accounts and other mayhem, as she knew these usernames. On some sites, it has been both embarrassing and expensive. I have suffered several lifetime bans from some sites because of the shenanigans and she has moved money that I have to fight In court to recover. FML

There was this old guy that used to come in to this bar daily when I lived in Oklahoma. By daily, I mean every single day. When his beer was empty he would, very loudly, exclaim, "Co Beer!" Me and my drinking buddies found this very amusing. So I stole it and added my childhood nickname, Toad at the end.

Mine was assigned by the company I worked for over 40 years ago. Computers were becoming prevalent in business and their format was the first 6 letters of your last name and your two initials. Since I used the same user name for over 30 years, it's easy for me to remember.
