Hi guys. I know the posts above are a bit old, but might you please share the details/outcome of your repair because I'm facing a similar situation.

Even thought my accident appears to be less sever than yours was (I don't have broken suspension components), my insurance company wants to total the car. Ugh.

Many thanks!

I think a lot of your case depends on the year and over all condition of the car and how much the insurance company will give you. It could all be fixed, and probably reasonably. If they'll pay you less than the totalled price, take it and keep the car. If it's totalled, let them take it, it will have a restored or salvage title which radically reduces the value of the car. The title is the big thing.

You are allowed to shop around for repairs. Maico could repair and replace and match the color. I have liked my dealing with them (tho every franchise is different.) They've done really good work for me.

OLD THREAD......But..........."European Insurance".....appears to suck, IF true!....what good is it if it leaves the policy holder high and dry?!?!...........or maybe the owner bought the cheapest coverage. I could understand having to pay a deductable but to have to come up with the total amount on a hit and run is insane!.....Hard to believe it....but then again it's an old post and possibly not "accurate".
