I think the heat concern is more on the resistor pack than the heatsink. I can try to get in mine to test.

Ah, okay. The resistor pack is what also plays a part in the computer not throwing an error, correct?

Incorrect info on my part, it's a ballast. Our cars don't have a bulb-out warning (well at least mine without the dot-matrix display doesn't). I would wager that the copper ribbon heatsinks wouldn't create any more heat than a 55w halogen would, but I'll try to measure that to be sure.

Hey guys.... just for info. The ‘blob” type LED’s I linked above WILL fit and function. With the door closed.... however my doors have been opened up by the previous owner for his (HID?) headlight mod. Which will let the fans “breath” time will tell how it holds up.... but so far.... i like it!!!
