Upgrading to 20"

I think I am going to upgrade to the 20" disc...

I am going to stick with the 17s in the ears.

Next time raise your hand and ask permission if you want to post something. A select group will meet and decide if it's "post worthy". They'll get back to you in 4-6 weeks (act NOW and receive an extra worthy post for FREE!).

.......and sit up straight!

I found it odd that the pic came from uglypeople.com. This tribe's people thinks this looks great! We're the ugly ones to them.

"Another useless thread...."

I'd have to agree that practical application of the knowledge shared in this thread is rather limited.

However, I think Rail should get the benefit of the doubt when you take into consideration his canon of invaluable contributions, which have included insightful and thought-provoking gems, such as:

Rail's posts are indicative of the fact that he has a 987 that he does not have to repair every month like many of us, myself included!

If I had a new boxster with a warranty, and never had an older one that needed EVERYTHING replaced, you wouldn't read any posts about how I disassembled my AC vent to fix the fins, how much a window regulator costs and who to buy it from for less money, etc. I dream of one day owning a new Pcar with a factory warranty.

Rail, my favorite post of yours was the haulin' ice cream thread. I laughed my butt off because I too have come home from the grocery store to find my frozen groceries are now lukewarm. Forgetting ice cream in the rear trunk while making a triple digit run out in the desert sound EXACTLY like something I would do.

You keep posting funny stuff in the lounge area and I'll keep laughing at it. There are hundreds of other threads on this forum that are technical and practical in nature and we need the balance in my opinion.

PS - I've seen some worthless posts on this forum, but they really are worthless and don't make me laugh, cry, or learn anything about anything. Fortunately, those are a rare sight.

Hmmm. Well at least we're narrowing down what's acceptable as a forum post.
1. If not technically related, must be at least remotely funny (to be defined later)
2. Must not qualify as stupid sh$t (also TBD)

Can we get this posted somewhere? Maybe under guidelines or rules or something? Perhaps we can show examples of proper posts and improper posts. I think issuing warnings and then point violations would be also helpful. Can we issue fines? I need a ruling on that because that would really be good to know. If needed, I can help draft the manifesto.

I have missed a few of these threads. I need to do a little searching tonight. The "Has Anyone Seen My Baseball" sounds very good!

Rail26 I love your contribution to the forum. Carry on!

Dear 986forum.com members,

I respectfully request that whoever is pissing in dbth's morning bowl of cheerios to please cease as it is causing severe agitation and foaming at the mouth. I also request dbth to look at the bottom of the post and verify that I did indeed make a post and not to read it. 97% of what I have to say is not technical in nature nor helpful in anyway. Just trying to keep it light...I guess I could argue about cops, and corvettes and why my engine light come on, but i thought a picture of a dude with a giant hubcab in his mouth is remotely funny. Bottom Line Up Front (learned that in my business class) DBTH, lighten up dude! Life is too short to be pissed off...you live in NYC and drive a Porsche...what could possibly be getting your panties in a wad?

Submitted with extreme respect and humble intentions,

Rail26

P.S. I will post a schematic of the electrical system or something to make up for my extreme lack of judgement. In the words of Oprah Winfrey "Are you going to eat that?"

Rail,

You have an uncanny knack for beginning threads which evoke high emotion from our brother and sister participants.

...Turd

Griz, World Wars and cheesecake recipes have been started and finished by light banter. When Joan of Arc made the "Four Score and Seven Years ago" speech at the Battle of the Bulge, she evoked the same type of emotion that a useless thread seems to generate here. For years I have contemplated the origins of potato toppings and why sour cream is not a beverage, but today I realize that just because Ben Franklin and Iggy Pop are not related does not mean that the moon landing was faked. The tango and small dogs named Alex are what we need to bring us together as a society and until we realize that Hebrew National Hot Dogs are the final beef product during the afterlife, the sooner we will be able to live in harmony. Peace in the Middle East.

Rail, it looks like you are practicing Steve's methods of screwing up the minds of forum members. And it's working!
