Welcome to the wonderful world of Boxters. Don't replace parts yet, sounds like it might be a major vacuum leak. If you have your old gas cap swap that back on.

Now that we met, you should post this in the general or technical and performance section. You'll also want to post a picture of you car with your post.

Should you discover that it's indeed an 02 sensor issue, do not replace one or two. Replace all four at the same time. I bought mine from oxygensensors.com and they were a lot cheaper than Porsche parts and they've been working great in my 97 for 8+ years now.

By replacing all four at the same time, you'll see a noticeable increase in power and performance and fuel economy... of course, this will be noticed after you drive it a couple of days and the computer can recalibrate.

BTW, Sunset Imports sells Porsche parts at 10% over their cost to customers out of state. I buy all my parts from them. Your local stealership will rape you on gas caps and radiator caps, etc. with pricing well above retail.

Codes are somewhat useless in diagnosing o2 sensors. You need to do data. Are they dead or just reading funky because you have a vacuum leak, stuck injector, misfiring coil etc..... Even a cheap scanner can get you live data and do not erase the code, you can pull up a freeze frame of all the sensors as the freeze frame records at the moment the code is thrown. It could very well be an 02 but you are just guessing.

You could try swapping the driver/passenger sensors and see if the codes follow the sensors or not. But multiple sensor-related codes is often indicative of a symptom caused by something else.
