2000 2.7l engine in 2001 Boxster

If I were to put a 2000 2.7l engine into a 2001 Boxster (2.7l original engine) with the 2001 ECU, what compatibility issues might I have? Would it be better to use the ECU from the 2000 car?

Don't quote me on this but I think there's a difference on the wiring for the water temperature sensor between the two.

I think they went to the 7.8 software in 2002 where the 2000-01 is ver 7.2.

I've done this, only issue was the hose from the SAI pump had to be changed. The 2000's was shorter for some reason.
