Bluetooth Audio Streaming Kit - Reviews?
Has anyone installed one of these?
BLU-BKR Bluetooth Audio Streaming Kit for select Becker Radios :: Bluetooth & Streaming Audio
It creates a bluetooth audio bridge between the aux in and your device. Seems like the most elegant solution to playing music off my phone or tablet through the CDR-220.
Just curious if anyone has one, or has used one, and any comments you have. Not much online about this little box.

This would be awesome.
I use a pair of LG Tone bluetooth in-ear headphones with my Android phone. Battery in the headphones easily lasts up to 10 hours on a single charge.
The sound is flawless. Granted, not as good as my V-Moda M100 over-ear headphones paired with my FiiO E18 headphone amp.
Getting rid of that aux-in plug would be ideal. My phone has fantastic 2 day battery life so I wouldn't even need to plug in for juice either.

I just installed the App to my phone and Nexus tablet from my PC via the Google Play Store.
Open up the app and it asks you to allow pairing to the TranzIt BLUE device.
This sounds pretty freakin cool.....
FYI,
If you want hands-free calling, and GoogleNow or Siri, you need this one ($145):

I just installed one of these (TranzIt BLU w/o RCA plug adapters) in my 993. The 993 has a CR-1 which is even more limited for connectivity options than the CDR-220. I have the TranzIt BLU connected between my FM antenna and the receiver/head unit. The sound quality is pretty good. I'd expect it to be even better with the RCA to AUX output (pure digital input to output rather than digital input to analog output).
The phone syncs right up once you have the app installed. The only issue I've had was when two different devices had the app and tried to pair with the transponder.
I installed the on-off switch because I had a hole that needed filling, but otherwise, I wouldn't bother with that feature. Just make sure to splice the 12v power line to into a ignition switch toggling 12v line and not the constant 12v line. (Otherwise you'll be draining your battery unnecessarily when the car is parked.)
In summary, I'm very pleased with the TranzIt BLU setup and would recommend it to others.

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback.
I think the price is very reasonable, too, at $75!

I got mine off Amazon. Note there is a newer and older version of the TranzIt BLU. I bought the newer. The AUX to PCA adapter can be bought cheaply off ebay. For the convenience of having them all arrive at once, $75 isn't bad.

I think they're going to sell a lot of these unless aftermarket in-dash head units start supporting blue tooth stream. Doubt you'll get one of those for $75 installed though.
I ordered the $145 that supports Google Now. That's very handy in the car with Google Maps for Android.

I haven't messed around with CR-23/CR-24 units at all, but if they have a standardized FM antenna port it shouldn't be hard to attach the TranzIt BLU between the antenna and receive as I did with the CR-1. That approach is pretty technology agnostic as long as the receive has an FM tuner.
I don't know if this install route would support the full hand's free calling features of the HF though.

This is the kind of unit which plugs into the aerial socket, it is closed loop so there is no radio interference. Full phone control and well as hands free/bluetooth music streaming and digital radio.
A big improvement over a Dension if you have a CDR23 etc:

I looked at this a few months ago, but did not purchase for the same reason op states. There just is not a lot out there on this product. I'm interested in hearing more from people who have used the bluetooth. Though, at $75 it isn't a huge investment.

Ok I am about to purchase. 1) I will need to buy the radio removal tools from Becker, right? 2) I'm leaving the bluetooth device behind the console, correct? It will tether from there I'm hoping.

I purchased one, looking for other solutions besides the radio removal tool. If I don't come up with a solution in a week, i'll buy a radio removal kit.

My 2004 Boxster has the OEM PCM with CD-based Nav. Of course the Nav is worthless now as I am unable to get updated Navteq map CDs anymore. It would be nice, however, to be able to make calls and play music via bluetooth from my Samsung phone.

the iSimple ISFM2351 TranzIt BLU HF Music Steaming & Hands Free Kit says it will work with any radio as long as it has either an aux input or antenna input. If you use the antenna connection, it switches between your actual antenna and the device. You audio and telephone over bluetooth

I had the iSimple ISFM2351 TranzIt BLU HF installed in the Cayenne at Best Buy. Uses the Antenna connection, works great and have had no issues with it.

I bought one off of Amazon recently but have not had time to install. I know its simple and won't take long...just been overcome by other obligations.
I'll post a review when I get around to installing. May even do a DYI!
