Boxster Track Tires

I did my first track day ever at Thunderhill (northern California) with my 2000 Boxster 2.7 last March. It was great fun except for the very bad under steer. I was running my regular street tires: Nitto Motivo, 205/50 ZR17 front, 255/40 ZR17 rear on stock 7.0 front and 8.5 rear rims. I determined to get some track tires and rims for my next outing. After a lot of research I settled on Proxes R1R. I also up sized my fronts to 225/45 ZR17 with the rear the stock size. I was running 31 pounds warm (not cold) which became 36 hot. This past week I did my 2nd track day. AMAZING results. Virtually NO under steer. Unbelievable grip. I could not believe the difference. I was able to push my car deep into the corners and then properly use those incredible brakes. I hope this helps someone out there trying to figure out what tires to buy. BTW, they are pretty quiet and a dream to drive on the street and highway. Happy as a clam in Sacramento.
