Thanks. I went with that. I kept getting confused with the red/black (or white) RCA plugs. I keep thinking they're +/- instead of left/right. Shows how much I know about stereos...

I just wired the subwoofer to the new stereo for a test run and WOW. I was shooting for "just bearable" sound but instead made it to "pretty darn good!" (not sure what scale that is but you get the idea). I got more bass than I though that little amp and driver could deliver. The sub apparently was owned by someone who read forums because it was stuffed as suggested in various posts. I see a lot of posts around here on how to get a sub in a Boxster without losing interior space, and let me tell you this is hard to beat - a self-powered, adjustable subwoofer box custom fit to my Boxster that barely takes any space... and it even comes with matching carpeting! All for under $122 shipped to my door
