I sold my Miata when I got the Boxster. Spacers are a bad idea. Much better to get wider lightweight wheels. 949Racing makes a really nice set. Konig also makes some inexpensive nice wheels. Good-win Racing is a great source.

YW. FYI, The 949 Racing 8" wheels fit with no fender bending.

My car came with Porsche supplied spacers - 7mm front and 12mm rear. I think this is the size they recommend if you want spacers. Anything bigger may put a lot of water on bearings.

There's a lot more to it than that as it would depend on the offset and width of wheel.

That's correct - I should have mentioned that. My wheels are standard offset / width. So the spacers are basically cosmetic - although I guess the wider track may help a bit.
