It may be all that. However, as the moderator who slogs through all the defect compaints on this forum, I can tell you that from a reliability standpoint, the boys in Germany have a long way to go.

As an example, the way they have failed to fix the RMS design defect is simply criminal in my opinion.

For the price of these cars, I would expect better from them. Let the defect rate reflect what we pay for these cars.

That would make me a happier Porsche owner.
Hi,

It doesn't make me the least defensive. In fact, I think it points out what I've felt for some time; namely that Porsche is now a Corporation which has grown away from the ideals and tutelage of Ferdy Porsche and now cares much more about the closing price of their outstanding shares than they do about quality or their customers. It's as if they can save a buck by slipshod work or design, and their past reputation is strong enough to sucker people to buy it, which they do in droves.

A lot of those objecting to this thread are living in denial of these things. Porsche as a company ain't what it used to be, and Porsche as a car ain't what it used to be, period! But, they don't care because they're selling more Cars than ever, design flaws and all...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99
