Would have been nice had the interior ended up like that instead of the cheapo parts bin crap it did.

Haha I actually find the real interior to be way more tasteful and modern, the concepts interior is my least favorite part of what I find to otherwise be an extremely special car.

I just noticed the lack of rollbar! Makes the rear look really smooth.

Man, am I glad that the final product didn't look like that.
Weird headlights, tiny and odd shaped tail lights, stupid dirt scoops and heart-shaped cockpit...very odd looking.
There's a reason that it wasn't the production model.

The first and last pic are excellent. Thanks for posting those. Beautiful lines. Wheels fill the wells. The lights are tasteful. The the soft top cover sweet ass. How it should have been.
That interior, seat, trim, and heart shape crap

Thanks for the pix! Fun to see the original concept car again. Glad that the fuel tank filler didn't stay there.

This concept is what made me fall in love with Porsche as a brand (and the slightly later 993 series). I still have the production teaser photo that was given to dealers leading up to the launch in the mid 90's. I was a teenager at the time and remember traveling to the "big city" to the dealership to gain any information on it that I could. That car was the darling of the autoshow circuit when it was released. Looking back, there is so much about it that I wish made it to production (front bumper, air intakes, fuel filler, size, etc.) and really nothing to fault about it other than the slightly long looking rear half and small taillights.
