For fairly generic parts like brake shoes, rotors, hoses, etc, I have found Rockauto.com to be pretty competitive with local prices here in B.C. For more specific (exotic?) parts, Pelican, design911, FCPEuro and others are worth looking at, depending on what our dollar is doing.
I've probably started a firestorm here, but that has been my experience so far.
