License plate hole plug turned white

I went to wash my poor dirty girl today, and found that one of the little plugs on the front bumper had reverted back to white. I wonder how long it had been that way? Is this something I can get from a local shop, or do I need to order it from Porsche?

The paint peeled off, you can buy a new set from bumperplugs.com or get some touchup paint and see if you can fix it that way. Suncoast may have pre-colored ones too.

OP, what color is your car? If it is black, suncoast has these black ones:

Painted plugs are not available from Porsche ... primer only.

The plugs from bumperplugs are NOT genuine Porsche plugs ... I threw mine away as soon as I opened the package.

Mine's midnight blue metallic. How close is Lapis to this color? If I went that way, I'd want to replace them both. Black could work too.

They do list Dark Blue Metallic. (2009+) Is that essentially the same color?

I'd like to repaint the plug, and I also have a small rock chip on the hood deep enough to show a white layer.

A few weeks ago I ordered a black set and an Ocean Blue Metallic set for a couple of my cars. They fit and look fine.

I honestly would go for the spray can. You get more for your money. You can get a small paint brush (like for models) and spray some in an old lid or similar for touching up and it will give a better, more smooth finish on your plug if sprayed on in a few light coats. Then you will have tons left over if you ever need it (I've used mine for painting some interior bits...looks fantastic).

Otherwise, I'd go with the small bottle with brush.

Remove old plug from car. Head to Advance Auto, Pep Boys etc and match it up. Buy small can or bottle of touch up paint. Press new plugs into piece of thin cardboard so you can hold them while painting. When paint is dry reinstall. I used a small amount of rtv sealer on the back of them to insure they are secure. Done.

So, odd follow-up here. I repainted the plug a few weeks ago and the color matched just great! Now a few weeks later, the same plug is shedding its paint, again. The other one seems to be perfectly intact.
